Class 4 Heavy Transport Driver (Training Provided) – Whangarei

Our client is seeking to engage an experienced, professional, and reliable operator to join our Whangarei team. They specialise in the transport and distribution of high-value structural steel and roofing products for Australasia's largest manufacturers, delivering to construction sites across Northland.

We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work and equipment, believes safety in the workplace is paramount, and will help us provide a level of service that is second to none.

What You Will Do

• Precision Driving: Safely operate Class 4 vehicles, transporting heavy structural steel and roofing products across urban and highway routes.
• Load Security: Take full responsibility for securing heavy loads safely and legally.
• Site Coordination: Work alongside yard staff and site crane teams to ensure smooth, efficient loading and unloading.
• Compliance & Safety: Complete daily pre-start vehicle checks, maintain accurate logbooks, and report any maintenance needs immediately.

What You Bring

• Licensing: A current, clean NZ Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
• Experience: At least 3+ years of heavy transport driving (previous experience operating Rigid units is highly regarded). Confidence navigating tight, busy construction sites and exceptional reversing skills are a must.
• Attributes: Well-presented, a good communicator, physically fit, punctual, and a professional representative for our business on-site.

Strict Application Criteria

• Location & Visa: You must currently live in New Zealand (ideally already based in Northland) and hold NZ Residency/Citizenship or a valid NZ work visa. Overseas applicants will not be considered.
• Background: Heavy transport driving experience is strictly required. Courier or food delivery backgrounds do not meet the technical requirements for this role.
