Night Shift  | General Labourers – Civil Maintenance | Mt Wellington

We have 2 exciting opportunities available for hardworking, reliable, and motivated General Labourers to join our client's Civil Maintenance team based in Mt Wellington.

This is a full-time, temp-to-permanent opportunity offering 40 hours per week, with the potential to secure a long-term position with one of New Zealand's leading civil contractors.

About the Role

As part of a supportive and experienced team, you will assist with a variety of civil maintenance tasks, including:

  • Weed eating and vegetation control
  • Landscaping and general grounds maintenance
  • Litter collection and public area cleaning
  • Maintenance repairs, including sign repairs, pothole repairs, and post installations
  • Assisting with emergency call-outs when required
  • Operating machinery and equipment as required
  • Supporting the team with general labouring duties to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Hold a Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence and can drive a manual vehicle (Class 2 is an advantage)
  • Ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Flexibility to work Sunday nights as part of the roster
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual work
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and help wherever needed
  • A strong, reliable work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Have own reliable transport to get to and from work
  • A good command of the English language, with the ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • A strong awareness of health and safety, with a commitment to following site procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Pre-employment Requirements

You must be able to:

  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Complete a satisfactory police check
  • Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand by holding New Zealand residency, citizenship, or a valid New Zealand work visa
