Our client is seeking a professional operator based in Hamilton. This vital role involves safely transporting high-value structural steel components to various construction sites across New Zealand.

**What You Will Do:**

  • Precision Driving: Operate Class 5 heavy vehicles / loads in urban and highway conditions.
  • Load Security: Take primary responsibility for securing structural steel loads using chains and restraints in strict accordance with NZTA regulations.
  • Site Coordination: Coordinate closely with yard personnel and crane teams for the safe loading and unloading of heavy steel elements.
  • Compliance & Safety: Conduct daily pre-start vehicle inspections, maintain accurate logbooks for fatigue management, and report maintenance needs promptly.


**What You Bring:**

  • Licensing: A current, clean NZ Class 5 Driver's License is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of heavy vehicle experience, ideally within the engineering, construction, or steel industries.
  • Technical Skill: Confident reversing in tight construction site environments
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical demands of chaining and securing heavy, steel loads.
  • Reliability: A proactive, punctual attitude with a commitment to representing the business professionally on-site.
  • HIAB Skills: Previous experience operating HIAB setups is preferred.
