We are currently recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to facilitate security , reporting and inter- agency cooperation for our client.

This is a critical role with varying daily challenges-. There are two Regional Security Officers (based in AKL and WEL) that report to this role.

Key responsibilities:

  •  Lead the team by providing operational advice
  •  Guide the direction of the team consistent with the companies vision and values
  • Accountable for the Health & Safety performance within the business unit
  • Direct all operational aspects of the business unit
  •  Analysis current process and plans to ensure continuous business and performance improvements
  • Monitor Business Unit to ensure financial control
  • The Business unit adheres to the clients/sites contractual obligations


The NSO’s responsibilities will include:

  • Engagement with and management of physical security enhancements and security platforms across New Zealand community centres in AKL, WEL, CHC, DUN, and NEL
  • Management of national security platforms (video surveillance, access control etc) including training, as well as management of support and maintenance contract with the provider
  • Management and leadership of Regional Security Officers
  • Engagement with the client for any required national roll-out of security enhancements
  • Management and training of professional security guards at the sites around New Zealand
  • Recruitment, regular training, and ongoing management of the volunteers via the Regional Security Officers
  •  Advising and training members of communities and organizations on all aspects of security
  • Undertaking security risk assessments and providing recommendations to improve security locally and around New Zealand
  • The refinement and development of standard day-to-day policies and operating procedures for community facilities
  • Liaising with law enforcement agencies and other related agencies and services at a national level
  • The assessment, development and management of community-wide crisis management and response plans in conjunction with government emergency services
  • Ensuring that all security plans are reviewed annually, are kept current and up-to-date, and are distributed to the appropriate persons
  • Managing protective operations for routine security for centres and and major events and managing the recording and reporting
  • Monthly and ( when needed ) reporting to the Board
  • Making recommendations on funding needs for improving security
  • Arranging an annual seminar programme for personnel and other community leadership groups for them to be updated on the latest security trends and risks


In order to apply, you must have :

  • Operations Management experience (Security license advantageous)
  • Proven ability to lead team/s
  • High level of ethics
  • Government level and professional training in security/protection of embassies, facilities and people
  • Martial arts expertise
  • Previous experience working for security companies and/or government or agencies in protection of facilities and people, with relevant experience in security and protocols planning and execution
  • 5 + years of security management experience


This is a full-time, professional position with an annual salary that is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications.
