Regional Security Operations Leader (12/11RS)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Security / Operations Manager to facilitate security at a large premises, reporting and inter- agency cooperation for our client. This is a critical role with varying daily challenges.

 

Responsibilities as the Security Lead,  include the following:

  • Operating as a direct member of the site’s operational management team
  • Guiding, training & overseeing dedicated professional security personnel & contractors;
  • Maintaining up to date security risk assessments and control plans for all onsite entities;
  • Ensuring a full suite of robust security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)  are in place;
  • Training and raising awareness among key personnel and users of the site;
  • Undertaking security officer duties (indicatively up to ~2 hrs per work day, but subject to rosters and requirements) alongside professionals and volunteers;
  • Defining, overseeing and organising security arrangements for events;
  • Identifying and overseeing physical and other security enhancements for the site;
  • Managing key security platforms (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercoms, alarm monitoring etc);
  • Playing a key role during crisis-management response;
  • Liaising with the client  and regional law enforcement agencies and other related agencies;
  • Providing regular operational reports to the  Boards

 

Skills required :

* Operations Management experience
* Proven ability to lead team/s with  appropriate level security courses;
* Government level and professional training in security/protection of embassies, facilities and people
* Previous experience working for security companies and/or government or agencies in protection of facilities and people, with relevant experience in security and protocols planning and execution
* 5 + years of security management experience

* Professional training in security/protection of high-risk facilities and people including close combat fighting  (or similar) fighting

* Well organised and good proactive communicator - including competency in email/word/excel

* Able to operate in a community environment - good at building relationships, working with different types of people and volunteers, patient, diplomatic and adaptable;

* Adept at operating under pressure, prioritising, and managing multiple competing demands

 

Desired skills, but not mandatory:

Three years of military or police service;

Up-to-date registration as security consultant and guard;

Undergraduate degree level security or management qualifications.
