Senior Plumber


Our Hurunui based Client, who began from humble beginnings in 1995, has grown and moved from strength to strength, now with a team of thirty, they have come to us looking for a Senior Plumber for their Culverden Branch.

They are a company committed to servicing the Hurunui district  and pride themselves on being able to find a solution for every client. Giving 100% in every situation within the effluent, mechanical, plumbing dairy and domestic, supply and servicing, milk cooling, specialist engineering, and compliance industries.

This is a Full-Time Permanent position with a competitive remuneration package based upon experience and qualifications.

Duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Supervision of other staff and apprentices, ensuring safe work practices
  • Coordinate available staff for upcoming projects
  • Be available for after hours on-call work
  • Report to senior management with regular updates on projects and jobs
  • Plumbing installations of water pumps, pumping systems and any associated plumbing work  
  • Repairs and preventative maintenance of plumbing as needed if such systems
  • Ensuring work is done to an exceptional standard follows compliance
  • All work is done in a safe manner and adheres to health and safety requirements
  • Ensuring any issues that may arise in dairy shed are passed on to the farmers and recorded
  • Updating records electronically for all jobs and tasks in timely and accurate manner
  • Entering job materials and hours electronically
  • Filling in with milking technician work when no plumbing or pumping work is available

To be successful in this position you will need to possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A full class 1 licence
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Trade certified and experienced
  • A calm, friendly & customer focused manner
  • Great at dealing with people from any walk of life
  • A rural background and understanding of what farmers need plumbing wise
  • Someone who will take ownership of their role
  • Calm under pressure and a problem solver
  • Takes pride in their work, and pride in promoting the company’s reputation
  • Can work well in a team or unsupervised
  • A well-groomed tidy appearance
