General Manager (11.01.22)


We are advertising on the behalf of our Nationwide client who are looking for a General Manager.

General Summary:

Nationwide decontamination company specialising in Asbestos Removal. Over the last year the company has seen 15-20% increase in sales. We are now ready for someone to come on and lead the company through the next stage of growth, potentially adding to the services provided and build the team.

Reporting to the group Managing Director and CFO, this role has a lot of autonomy with support from head office through the wider group. You’ll be a self starter and set a clear strategy and goal for the company. To achieve this you will lead the nationwide team with offices in Auckland and Christchurch. You will have demonstrable experience in the Asbestos field along with management and health and safety. As well as the drive to grow the business and level of service we provide.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Build client relationships and growth,
- Manage and developing the national team,
* Manage the South Island team directly,
* Supervise and help manage north Island team alongside, NI manager,
- Grow customer numbers and scale,
- Seek out and explore opportunities for growth,
- Manage our Health and Safety to ensure we are compliant across the group, with our H&S Officer (based in CHCH).
- Ensure the business meets all legislative and regulatory requirements,
- Creating effective working relationships and enhancing culture,

Ideal Skills & Experience:

- Asbestos Licensed: A&B Class Supervisor (would be ideal)
- +5 years in management
- Organisation skills (organising 16 team members)
- Experience managing and maintaining clients,
- Sales experience,
